1️⃣ The success of climate #policies comes down to political will – if a majority of people are in favour and we can translate public opinion into #policy-making. #Germany, as a functioning democracy, has managed to do that.
2️⃣ National targets for #ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme) or #CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) are contested issues among #EU member states, but there is no North/South or East/West divide.
3️⃣ There isn’t a tension between climate policies and #welfare; climate policies are about fixing the #inequalities inherent in climate change.
