🔎3️⃣0️⃣Earlier this week I took part in the policy workshop “Snagov after 30 years”, focused on renewing Romania’s foreign policy consensus.

Alongside recognized voices from Romania’s foreign policy and security ecosystem, I got to share my perspective on the opportunity to renew this consensus and the tools through which we can achieve this.

I believe that the presidential elections we have just held have shown us the democratizing trend of Romania’s foreign and security policy is not reversible. Those who must internalize this new reality are the political parties, which must, through a new set of leaders, act as a transmission belt between the electorate and foreign and security policy institutions.

📍Just like 30 years ago, we need strong political parties for a strong pro-European consensus. We need parties that relearn how to do politics and thus infuse the institutional apparatus with new ideas that will take Romania’s Euro-Atlantic vocation to the next level: from a bystander to an active player.
