🇷🇴🇪🇺Romania’s Euro-Atlantic dream had a stellar win last night with the victory of Nicușor Dan, the candidate supported by the reformist, pro-EU and pro-NATO forces who crushed the Russophile candidate George Simion.

🙏🏻7% was the difference between the two in this historic runoff, after 20% between them following the first round.

🔴Nicușor Dan is not only a brilliant mathematician educated at the Sorbonne, but also one of the few candidates who had the courage to say that supporting Ukraine is in 🇷🇴Romania’s national interest.

Dan was also the only one who said that if 🇲🇩Moldova is attacked, he will swifly call NATO allies for support. Yesterday evening, Nicușor Dan specified that security, alongside economy, will be a priority of his mandate and pledged that he will raise the defense sector spending to a minimum of 3.5 of the country’s GDP.

Mr. President-elect, as of today we have a duty to stand behind you to modernize our nation. Russia, don’t forget, Romania will never be yours!
