Today we discuss about digital decay and the online content that is just disappearing. Digital decay is the slow, invisible deterioration of our digital data and assets over time.

I’ve found it interesting to learn that 38% of webpages that existed in 2013 were no longer accessible a decade later (acc. to a recent study from Pew Research Center). The research talks about other interesting particularities, like the fact that 54% of Wikipedia pages contain at least one link in their “References” section that points to a page that no longer exists or that more than 40% of tweets written in Turkish or Arabic are no longer visible on the site within three months of being posted.
