Dozens of institutions have monitored the electoral process during the recent competition for seats in the European Parliament, but few have debriefed the society on the findings. The Expert Forum alongside the Romanian Center for European Policies, Ratiu Center for Democracy and Funky Citizens have produced the report below:

The conclusion is rather positive: the process was fair and transparent. The designated electoral authority (Autoritatea Electorala Permanenta – AEP) works closely with the NGOs and is at the forefront of the pressures on the Parliament to adopt a unitary Electoral Code. [During my last year as President of the Romanian Society of Political Science, a group of colleagues coordinated by Razvan Grecu focused on the good function of the AEP – we moved a long way since 2005 in this regard.]
