Miruna Troncotă, moderating an engaging discussion on the threats on European Democracy in the shadow of war

We celebrate Europe Day more worried than ever. I am honoured that I will spend the day moderating an engaging discussion on the threats on European Democracy in the shadow of war.
The Václav Havel European Dialogues International Conference is a project that seeks to open and develop a discussion on the topics determining the direction of contemporary Europe taking into account the spiritual legacy of Václav Havel. The event organized by the Czech Centre Bucharest, in cooperation with Václav Havel Library and local universities, will take place on May 9th 2022.
The conference will focus on the following themes: the state of democracy in Europe today, environmental challenges and energy security, and also connect with the current war in Ukraine and its implications for Europe.
The program will consist in 2 parts. Morning sessions will consist in keynote speeches by Czech and Romanian experts from academia, think tanks and civic society, followed by discussions. In the afternoon, students will follow up on these discussions with their papers and presentations.
