💫 Today, the FIC delegation, consisting of Board Members Ramona Jurubita , Catalin RADU, and Diana Sipos, alongside FIC Executive Director, Alexandra Irimiea, Ștefan George, Macroeconomist, and Sofia Costache, Communication Manager, met with the Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, (Ministerul Economiei, Antreprenoriatului și Turismului) Mr. Radu Miruta, and Secretary of State Mr. Viorel Baltaretu for a discussion on improving the investment climate in Romania and attracting foreign direct investment.

FIC representatives presented „𝑉𝑎 𝑈𝑟𝑚𝑎” project, an ambitious country project launched by the FIC in 2016. The upcoming edition of the study focuses on top 10 sectors based on productivity, comparing Romania’s performance with that of European front-runners and assessing the direct, indirect, and induced economic effects. The analysis includes mapping value chains in four strategic sectors —defense, energy, agribusiness, and IT&C—but it can be expanded over time or used as a model for all economic sectors.

The FIC delegation emphasized the need for Romania to take a more proactive stance in attracting high-value investments. This requires a deep reform of public policies to better support both new and existing foreign investors, while also strengthening Romania. A key priority is the transformation of the foreign investment and trade agency into a strategic tool—not only for attracting FDI, but also for actively promoting Romanian capital on global markets.
